Some users have reported running into a QuickBooks Unrecoverable Error when working in specific company files within QuickBooks 2014 (Pro, Premier, and Enterprise). This is a known issue by Intuit regarding QuickBooks 2014. At this time there is a resolution that addresses the issue, and Intuit is also working on a permanent fix to prevent the issue from happening in the first place.
The Intuit support article regarding this issue can be found here:
The most common appearance of this error occurs when our users go to File > Close Company/Log off. Completing these steps causes the QuickBooks Unrecoverable Error message to pop up and QuickBooks will then shut down.
- Launch QuickBooks in HarborCloud
- Sign in to the "problem" company file
- Slowly close down all active windows within the company file, one at a time
Trying to close all windows rapidly may also cause the error message to appear, so please wait a few seconds after closing one active window before closing another. After all active windows are closed down, try going to File > Close Company/Log off and you now should be able to close the file without Quickbooks crashing.
